The manual
Everything in the Velocity panel, tab by tab. Every action on this page can be undone with one button.
Getting started
Open the panel from Window, Extensions, Velocity UI. It has four tabs: Library, Motion, Tools and Studio, with a quick bar across the top for the actions you use most.
Select clips or keyframes on the timeline, then click. If you do not like the result, press Undo in the panel, or Ctrl+Z while the panel has focus.
Press Ctrl+K to search every command by name.

Motion: curves on any keyframe
Select two or more keyframes on any property, such as Position, Scale, Opacity, Volume or any effect parameter, and apply a curve. Velocity sets the easing frame-accurately between them.
Presets
- Basic and Character curves for everyday moves.
- Physics: Spring Soft, Spring Bouncy, Elastic and Bounce, with real overshoot.
Curve editor
- Drag the handles. The curve is coloured by speed, with keyframe diamonds at both ends.
- Intensity from 0 to 150 percent gives a softer or stronger version of the same curve.
- Paste or Copy a
cubic-bezier()value from After Effects, CSS or easings.net. - The live preview shows your curve in orange against linear in grey.
My Curves
Save curves you like, star favourites, and export or import them as a .json pack to share between computers.
Re-applying
Velocity remembers your original keyframes. Apply a different curve later and only the curve changes; it also works across chains of keyframes.
Beat: markers on the music
- Detect reads the selected music and finds the BPM and the beats.
- Mode: Every beat, Hits only (quiet parts stay empty), or Strong hits (drops and drum entries).
- Every 2 or 4 keeps markers on the strong beat of each bar.
- Beat Punch adds a zoom pop on each marker. It skips the Safe Zone and clips you disabled.
Audio: ducking and levels
Auto-Ducker
In Speech mode Velocity analyses the voice track and lowers the music only where someone is speaking, so it does not pump in the pauses. Set Attack and Release to taste.
Level Match
Measures the loudness of each clip (ITU-R BS.1770-4) and sets it to a target: -16 LUFS for speech, -26 LUFS for music, -20 LUFS for effects. The shape of any volume keyframes you already have is kept.
Tools: one-click motion
All of these use the same curve engine and share one Ease picker.
- Punch In: In, Out, or In, Hold and Out.
- Motion FX: Zoom In, Zoom Out, Pop, Slide in four directions, Shake.
- Breathe: a slow, living scale.
- Ken Burns: pan and zoom where the edge of the image never shows.
- Auto-Fade for video and audio.
- Auto-Zoom: zooms on the stressed words of speech.
Everyday helpers
- Reset, Center, Fill and Fit.
- Relative Gain: set, raise or lower.
- Match Framing: pick a reference clip, then match others to it.
- Solo Multicam.

Library
Your own assets and packs in one place: favourites, search, waveform previews, preview images and durations. Rename without touching the original file, and drag anything straight onto the timeline.

- Runs offline. No account, no data collection.
